Business network tests use approved customer servers at both ends. Confirm authorization for the transfer and select the correct resources before running. Administrator testing can use configured local resources.

Measure the connection between your servers.
Run an authorized, bounded transfer between approved resources. Set a requested rate, total data cap and duration, then inspect the achieved throughput.
Set rate, volume and duration
Mbps controls the requested transfer rate. MB controls the total data allowance. The test also has a time limit and stops at the first applicable cap. Resource admission can reduce the rate you are allowed to request.
Understand Mbps and MB
500 Mbps is 62.5 MB per second before overhead. At that rate a 500 MB transfer lasts about eight seconds. A port speed is a ceiling, not a promise that every path or test will reach it.
Compare requested and measured throughput
Read achieved payload rate and receiver-confirmed volume together. A constrained sender, receiver or network path may keep the result below the requested rate. Keep resource and test settings consistent for comparisons.
Know what one path can tell you
This test measures one TCP path. It does not prove dedicated bandwidth, aggregate multiple physical ports or establish how many website visitors an application can handle. Website load testing measures a different workload.
Review and repeat
Business reports retain available transfer evidence and technical guidance. Export or email your report, then repeat the same bounded transfer after a configuration change to assess the difference.
